Service Officer Update

With recent developments in the federal government, including actions from the Department of Government Oversight (DOGE) and reported layoffs affecting VA employees, there is growing concern about potential changes to VA healthcare and benefits.

We want to hear from you. If you notice any delays in care, difficulty accessing services, changes in coverage, or any other impacts on your VA benefits, please let us know. Your feedback will help us advocate for veterans and ensure that no one is left behind.

Please reach out to VFW Post 3063 Service Officer John Hoglund at [email protected] with any concerns or experiences you’ve had.

Vietnam Veteran Recognition Social recap

On March 15 we gathered for our Annual Vietnam Veterans Recognition Event, and it was truly special. The ceremony, dinner, reflections, and camaraderie made for an unforgettable evening. To all our Vietnam Veterans: Welcome Home. Your service and sacrifices are never forgotten, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to recognize and honor you.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and helped make the event a success. Seeing our community come together in support of our Vietnam Veterans reminds us why these gatherings are so important.

During dinner, Vietnam Veteran Bill Laprade spoke about the benefits of Tai Chi and encouraged veterans to give it a try. He teaches a free class every Monday at 2:30 pm at the post and would love to see more veterans join. If interested, reach out to Bill at [email protected]!

Our VA Work Study intern, Joseph Rissi, conducted a narrated POW/MIA ceremony at the event.

Vietnam Social March 15

Mark your calendars! We’re planning our annual Vietnam Veterans Recognition Social for March 15. Commander Teeter would like this to be a team effort. Sign up to volunteer here!

Recognizing and celebrating the service of our comrades is one of our main missions and since Vietnam Veterans have served as the backbone of the VFW for many years now, we owe them a proper Welcome Home! Everyone is welcome to attend and please RSVP at [email protected].
