Memorial Wall renovation support needed

VFW Post 3063 submitted a letter of support for the proposed updates to the Memorial Wall at Memorial Stadium, advocating for much-needed improvements to honor veterans with a more accessible and dignified space. The renovation plan includes a dedicated area for reflection and events while improving the wall’s setting away from parking areas.

A briefing presentation shared with the Landmarks Preservation Board can be viewed here.

The board is set to vote on the proposal soon, and public comments are encouraged. To submit your input before the vote, visit here.

2024 Wreaths Across America

On December 14, Commander Teeter participated in the Wreaths Across America event at Lake View Cemetery and the Garden of Remembrance. She made sure to lay a wreath at our namesake's grave, which was discovered last year. To see more about the day, watch this news segment on Fox 13.

MAP Grants help fund Guard events

We were delighted to host the Washington National Guard's 181st Brigade Support Battalion Atlas Company for their holiday party during December drill. Food was subsidized thanks to the VFW's Military Assistance Program (MAP) Grant. We obtained additional MAP Grant funds for the HHC and Charlie Companies' celebrations as well.

Last year VFW Post 3063 adopted the entire 181 BSB and the VFW's Adopt-a-Unit Program's goal is to develop supportive relationships with units before, during and after deployments to help deliver the vast network of resources the VFW has available to the military.

In an effort to provide more support to our Adopted Units and other military members, we're pleased to offer free annual memberships to those currently serving military members. Please contact adjutant@vfwseattle.org or go to vfwseattle.org for more details.

Native veteran elders meet

A group of native veteran elders met at Post 3063 for breakfast, camaraderie and VA benefits in early December. Thank you to United Indians of All Tribes Foundation for sponsoring the event!
