VFW Post 3063

Post hosts Senator Murray Roundtable

We hosted Senator Patty Murray at Post 3063 for a round table on veteran women's health April 22. Thank you to the senator for her steadfast leadership in supporting veterans, especially our women veterans. Thank you also to the veterans who came and told their stories. See coverage of the visit here.

Service Officer Update

With recent developments in the federal government, including actions from the Department of Government Oversight (DOGE) and reported layoffs affecting VA employees, there is growing concern about potential changes to VA healthcare and benefits.

We want to hear from you. If you notice any delays in care, difficulty accessing services, changes in coverage, or any other impacts on your VA benefits, please let us know. Your feedback will help us advocate for veterans and ensure that no one is left behind.

Please reach out to VFW Post 3063 Service Officer John Hoglund at hoglundjah@gmail.com with any concerns or experiences you’ve had.

FT4RC Classes

Father and son team, Greg and Henry Lohman, teach firearm, first aid and emergency preparedness classes at the post. A short description of the classes offered are listed below and more information is on their website at FT4RC.com

Native veteran elders meet

A group of native veteran elders met at Post 3063 for breakfast, camaraderie and VA benefits in early December. Thank you to United Indians of All Tribes Foundation for sponsoring the event!

Tai Chi, anyone?

Did you know the post hosts a Tai Chi class every Monday at 2:30 pm taught by a Vietnam Veteran? The instructor, Bill Laprade, has a group of dedicated students but none of them are veterans. Bill's passion is to instruct veterans but may discontinue the class at our location if no veterans decide to join. Shoot an email to Bill at taichibill2@gmail.com if interested!
